Marine Sand can be used with a standard undergravel filter or power filter or just used has a substrate in the aquarium. When using undergravel filtration, there should be between 2 1/2" - 3 1/2" inches all-round coverage, which equals approximately two bags per square foot of aquarium base.
Tropical Marine Sand should be lightly rinsed in fresh water before being introduced to the aquarium.
