Marine Sand can be used with a standard undergravel filter or power filter or just used as a substrate in the aquarium. When using undergravel filtration, there should be between 1 1/2" - 2 1/2" inches all-round coverage, which equals approximately two bags per square foot of aquarium base.

The Sand should be lightly rinsed in fresh water before being introduced to the aquarium.
